In the Office of Information Technology (OIT), we want to be the IT organization that people seek out as a partner for providing visionary strategies, creative solutions, objective information, and effective and efficient services in order to help them achieve their mission and goals.
WOLFPACK DIPS PAW INTO LIGHTNING-FAST WORLD OF DRONES AND 5G
The acronym PAWR might sound familiar to you; If it doesn’t right now, it will. NC State is helping to revolutionize the technology that connects 5G and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), aka drones.
RESEARCHING THE RIGHT IT SOLUTIONS
Data-driven inquiry has exploded across all areas of research at NC State. At the same time, the university’s need to comply with increasing data security requirements is juxtaposed against the need to readily collaborate with researchers locally and globally.
NC STATE EXPANDS DATA CENTER ENVIRONMENT
In August 2020, NC State will complete its migration to a new modern data center environment to host its critical IT services and meet its future spacing, cooling and power needs.
TSS LAUNCHES IT SERVICE MANAGEMENT INITIATIVES
Improving efficiencies and offering better customer experience were the primary goals for OIT Technology Support Services (TSS) this fiscal year. Toward this end, TSS inaugurated three new IT service management (ITSM) initiatives in the ServiceNow platform.
UNIVERSITY STRATEGIC GOALS
OIT supports the goals of “The Pathway to the Future: NC State’s 2011-2020 Strategic Plan” through many different services and initiatives.
STAFF RECOGNITION AND ACHIEVEMENT
OIT staff shined in their commitment to provide technological services to the campus community and humanitarian aid to their surrounding communities. OIT also reaffirmed its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) by launching an internal team to improve the division’s efforts.
